Betsy Frost - My style, in both jewelry and sculptural objects, reflects my love of dance and movement. I am attracted to sensual shapes and objects, and try to reflect this attraction in my work. I strive for fluidity in my pieces, and am constantly trying to 'reinvent a shape' by giving it movement with links or hinges.

Shape and movement take precedence over surface texture and color. I am inspired by artists such as Matisse and Degas, but also get ideas from my immediate surroundings - the shape of a flower, or the 'line' of a piece of furniture or other object. I am mesmerized by patterns in tapestry, wallpaper and carpet. When
