He studies each log looking for faults or distinctive grain patterns and then makes decisions with the chain saw that define

where those natural elements will appear within a particular form. His experience with various hard woods has taught him to understand the wood and its inherent qualities.
Every piece of Christopher's work is an original--no two pieces are the same. There are similarities in form, but ultimately it is

the inherent natural qualities that he brings out in a turned object which make each piece one of a kind.
