Diane Ferland and Sylvie Belanger founded Cassandre Studios in 1995, as the first workshop specializing in glass casting in Quebec, Cassandre has gained international attention This relatively young enterprise offers
unique creations, sculptured pieces designed especially for architectural integration, and objects produced in limited series. Glass casting is a very impressive technique that has been practiced
since Antiquity. The glass, which is melted at 2,225 degrees Fahrenheit, is poured into a mold formed in moist sand. Colors, which are put in the sand beforehand, appear as the glass cools and becomes transparent.
