Born and raised on Cape Cod Massachusetts, Kate Greenhalgh’s textiles are inspired by the beauty of her home. Many of Kate’s creations spring from nature, especially her own flower garden, and a deep connection to the ocean. Kate works in various textures and types of silk scarves including chiffon,

crepe de chine, habotai, as well as the newer devore and solid with some pieces having an exquisite hand beaded detail on the ends of the scarves. Each piece is unique and hand painted using special silk dyes, working in a rich and vibrant color palette. Her soft and tranquil colors as well as mix of textures are evocative of the

ocean that she draws her inspiration from. Making a scarf is like painting an oblong canvas that will be enjoyed and worn by the wearer to work, birthdays, weddings, trips abroad and other important events. I like to know that my work is out there in the world!"
